Today I found myself going down a TikTok rabbit hole to see THE ONE that made Addison Rae, a 19-year-old girl that I have never heard of before, never cared for before, famous within like two months or something. It was suddenly very important to look at her TikTok page after I have read about her and the Hype House in the Dazed Newsletter and to scroll all the way down to eventually after what felt like an hour and in reality actually was very close to three hours (I might be exaggerating here, but what is time REALLY? ANYWAY? THESE? DAYS?) to eventually find the short-clip of Addison Rae and her Mum lip-synching to Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” and of course dancing. Needless to say that it absolutely was undistinguishable from the rest of the previous clips I had watched during my research, a lot of hands clapping, tongue stretching, classy, bougie, ratchet, sassy, moody, nasty,
acting stupid, what's happening? What's happening?… and the reason why exactly this TikTok went viral is yet…
