This week my essay “50 First Dates – Modern Dating Amnesia” came out on OffChance. A 4000 word confessional on my quest to go on 50 dates this year. How that turned out so far? “What’s something you definitely want to do this year?” I copy paste the message and send it to the ten matches in my inbox, I have accumulated since the morning. Bumble has a lady’s first policy and this one is on a mission. I feel like a genuine sociopath with my little list, the memes and TikTok’s I send back and forth between a friend “I want an airport dad!”, mixed with the arbitrariness of whom ever I match first with. Romance will have to take a backseat today. This is about sieving through the mud of men who are looking for “nothing serious but want kids” and “do not want to be penpals…
