Yesterday on my walk home, on an unusually hot day for Scotland, sun in my face, I look at my phone and between a range of emails which I routinely archive to never read, sits this:
Congratulations! You are a Substack Bestseller!
My heart took a leap. Then a stumble. Then a joyful: fuck yeah!
After 3 years of slow-burning, of patiently growing and waiting, and doing the work. It feels like a true milestone, a true peak with a view.
I am so grateful to everyone who has been supporting me along the way, who opens it all the time, who saves it for an escape or forwards it to friends and family to have conversations about it, who has subscribed from the start during a grim Pandemic May in 2020, or who literally just encountered this little corner of the internet.
