Happy New Year!
However you found your way here, you made it. We’re in 2021. How marvelous. One year of pandemic is over. We know now how things didn’t get better in Summer or Autumn or Winter. We know now that we hoped a lot and speculated a lot and somewhere between the pessimists and optimists was reality, checking in with us again and again, cancelling our plans and adapting them.
And still we made it. We’re here.
A couple of weeks ago my sister sent me a present for my birthday: A five-year snapshot journal. It was strange and exciting to write my first entry, realising that in 5 years I would look upon this page and it would be filled with stories and events that happened. Then I would be 36. As if I could fall right into the future just by looking at the blank spaces. It was accelerating. All the possibilities. As if I could touch myself, hold my hand, reach out into the future.
