Somehow the ban has been lifted. The bell jar that was limiting my steps to a small radius around my house, finally broke, the shards falling to the ground like stars. The first months of lockdown every step further was difficult. My rounds circling smaller and smaller. As if being too far away from home would put me in sheer danger. An unsettling feeling that now quietly has left, waving in the distance, vanishing into thin air. Last weekend I stood on top of Craiglockhart hill, this morning I bathed in the cold pool of the Water of Leith, waking up at 5, going for a walk, listening to the quietness of morning hours, greet the occasional jogger and feel the solitude of a forest, as I dive into the river.
I’m finding new habits.
I read about the pomodoro technique, this newsletter is in fact written with it. It does work. 25 minutes of concentrated activity. Then 5 minutes break. Then another 25. And so on. Till a longer break. Or you’re done with your task. Like the author in the article, I agree: You can do a lot with this. You can achieve a lot with this. Productivity is top!
