Usually, by now I would announce the annual summer break. The pausing of the Muse Letter till the summer heat has cooled down, till September arrives with a fresh breath of air. But this year I want to try something different:
Glimpse of Summer – A Weekly Series
will be a special edition of The Muse Letter, something that fits into the 5 minutes on the tram to the lake, those sunny mornings spent in bed, a little pocket of inspiration, a kaleidoscope of summer moments, with a weekly prompt to inspire you to have a summer full of memories that will last even when the days start to get shorter and the jumpers and woolen socks are pulled out again. We are squeezing out every little bit of summer joy! Because when we are joyful we are raising our self-worth and when that is high, we’re also able to fight all the bullshit that seems to be coming left and right these days.
It’s a 9-week series, only for paying subscribers. So if you’ve been on the fence to become a supporter of the Muse Letter: Now is a very good time!
It’s only twenty pounds for a year and every contribution helps me to keep writing, to keep this going. And now without further ado:
Things I Look Forward to this Summer
days of lying in a hammock with a cold drink, too tired to read the book that is sitting in my lap, and just alternating between a pool/beach/cold shower while someone is continuously bringing fresh-cut watermelon/strawberries/peaches for me to eat
harvesting the first edible flowers from my garden and decorating every single dish with them
camping and that moment when you wake up and your body is all warm in a sleeping bag and your feet aren’t cold at all anymore
staying in having the luxury of a sunny day and staying in, glancing out of the window occasionally lying on the bed and just reading because I’m too lazy to go out and at peace with it all
bonfires lighting a fire when the cool air hits your arms and bare legs, your face shining in the soft glow of auburn flames and the comforting silence of just staring into them for hours
